VTF’s Mitoworld Partners with MDEC for the IP360 Metaverse Initiative

(SUMMARY)

IP360 is a national initiative by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) aimed at boosting Malaysia’s presence in the digital content and metaverse space. It provides funding, infrastructure, and expertise to help brands, creators, and businesses transform their intellectual property (IP) into immersive digital experiences.

Through programmes such as the Immersive IP Experiences Programme, Metaverse Onboarding, Digital Asset Development, and Photogrammetry Training, IP360 empowers companies to build interactive content, virtual worlds, and cultural showcases accessible worldwide. Its mission is to drive innovation, create jobs, preserve culture, and position Malaysia as a regional leader in digital innovation by 2030.

As part of this effort, Virtualtech Frontier (VTF) developed five unique metaverses for five different companies using its proprietary Metaverse creation platform, Mitoworld. Each metaverse was tailored to reflect the respective brand’s identity and engage audiences in new and meaningful ways — showcasing both VTF’s capabilities and the real-world impact of IP360 in driving Malaysia’s digital transformation.

For the IP360 initiative by MDEC, powered by Virtualtech Frontier (VTF), we delivered more than just Metaverse development, we provided strategic consultation, creative direction, and full-cycle execution to transform intellectual property into scalable, immersive digital assets. Using our proprietary Metaverse creation platform, Mitoworld, we developed five unique metaverses tailored to each brand’s identity and audience engagement goals. This initiative demonstrates how VTF enables businesses to extend brand value, create new engagement channels, and future-proof their digital presence, driving innovation, preserving cultural identity, and positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in the Metaverse economy.

1. UITM: Meta-OHE

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is changing the way oral health education is delivered with the introduction of Meta-OHE, a metaverse-based immersive learning platform. Instead of using traditional methods, Meta-OHE immerses learners in a virtual world where teachings are interactive, visual, and engaging.

Learners can join a virtual dental clinic, study lifelike teeth and gum models, and participate in scenario-based exercises that mimic real-life oral care methods. From practicing proper brushing and flossing techniques to diagnosing cavities and preventing gum disease, the experience makes oral health education an active adventure rather than passive instruction. By gamifying crucial lectures, UiTM ensures that students not only acquire information but also create strong long-term habits.

This innovative approach positions UiTM as one of the first Malaysian universities to bring healthcare education into the metaverse, highlighting the potential of immersive technology in both academia and public health.

2. Monkiddo

Monkiddo, based on the imaginative world created by cartoonist Lim Jayee, depicts a colourful realm of "monster kiddos" whose colourful personalities and exciting experiences reflect a humorous yet significant examination of Malaysian identity. Each character, like SOSO, embodies themes firmly entrenched in local culture but with a worldwide appeal.

Beyond drawing and fashion collaborations, Monkiddo has ventured into the metaverse to broaden its narrative. One highlight was bringing the Monkiddo metaverse to the Monash University Open Day, where prospective students could explore various courses while immersed in Monkiddo's vivid universe. The combination of education and play transformed course discovery into an interactive journey, demonstrating how innovation and gamification can influence student experiences.

Monkiddo also worked with Converse Malaysia on a Raya campaign, combining AR filters, festive graphics, and in-store activations to immerse fans in its magical environment. These projects demonstrate how local intellectual properties can thrive when transformed into immersive and interactive platforms.

3. HAUS KCH

HAUS KCH has long been recognised as Sarawak's lively creative hub, fostering local artists, musicians, and inventors. HAUS KCH is now expanding its mission into the metaverse as part of MDEC's IP360 program, in collaboration with Virtualtech Frontier. This cooperation is a significant move towards integrating Sarawak's creative community into the internet arena, where culture, art, and technology converge.

Visitors to the HAUS KCH metaverse can participate in Tuak Talk, a signature section that features calm and engaging conversations about arts, culture, and community development. Along with this, the venue has interactive digital art exhibitions and cultural storytelling experiences that reflect Sarawak's character. It's more than simply a digital place; it's a thriving community hub that combines tradition and innovation, allowing creators a new platform to express and interact.

4. Chiefeater

Chiefeater's Foodie Metaverse introduces Kuala Lumpur's food culture to the digital realm. The metaverse experience, developed by Chiefeater.com in partnership with MVX Multiverse and powered by Mitoworld, allows users to discover Kuala Lumpur's unique food culture via a completely immersive and interactive platform. Chiefeater demonstrates how local culture may be experienced in new and inventive ways outside of the physical world by mixing narrative and internet involvement.

The Chiefeater's Foodie Metaverse

The Chiefeater Metaverse allows users to experience virtual versions of famous restaurants, hawker stalls, and eateries from all throughout Kuala Lumpur. The application enables foodies to navigate among various culinary neighbourhoods, discover must-try meals, and even engage with other foodies in real time via their avatar. This gamified method turns food exploration into a sociable and engaging experience that is both authentic and fun.

Chiefeater's Metaverse demonstrates how food discovery could be redesigned in the digital age. By combining culture, community, and technology, it showcases how immersive platforms may promote local events to a larger global audience. To enhance the experience, Chiefeater includes an AI-powered chatbot that guides guests, answers questions, and curates personalised culinary journeys, making each exploration not just enjoyable but also intelligent and engaged.

5. Metahub

Metahub has established itself as a platform that brings sports communities together by organising leagues, tournaments, and grassroots events throughout Malaysia. Metahub is now spreading its reach into the metaverse with Virtualtech Frontier. This approach not only changes the way sports are experienced online, but it also brings together fans, players, and organisers in one integrated ecosystem.

The Metahub Metaverse allows users to tour virtual stadiums, view match schedules, and even engage in real-time communication with communities and teams. In addition to watching games, the platform lets supporters reserve locations, find out about upcoming competitions, and take part in gamified activities that replicate the thrill of grassroots football in a virtual setting. Whether on the pitch or online, this connection guarantees that players and supporters can remain in touch.
